Violence in Heaven?

And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force. – JESUS (Mat 22:12 KJV)

According to the Merriam Webster dictionary,  Violence  is  the use of physical force to harm someone, to damage property, etc. : great destructive force or energy.
Heaven is a spiritual state of everlasting communion with God, a place or condition of utmost happiness. A state of thought in which sin is absent and the harmony of divine Mind is manifest.
About four years ago, I watched probably the best movie I have seen so far, James Cameron’s Avatar.  What I got from the movie was that the people of earth had exhausted their natural resources for energy and they had found in abundance, a mineral resource rightly named Unobtainium, in a distant planet called Pandora. The natives, Na’vi, had lived together in harmony with respect of their environment.  The humans, rather than ask nicely from the  Na’vi,  to mine the unobtainium, they chose to take it violently, with seemly superior firepower. A lot of the Na’vi people died but somehow they regrouped, overcame and drove out the humans. (The story is eerily similar to what the superpowers and big corporations are doing  today).
Jesus in the above quotation, spoke of violent attacks on the kingdom of heaven i.e. heaven’s way of life, ideals, resources etc. (Think of what is obtainable in heaven).  Though Heaven is not immune from violent attacks, certainly it cannot be overrun – “…the gates of hell shall not prevail.”
I am persuaded that Jesus was informing you and me, that many things and people will attempt to violently take you over but you  have the potential to overcome. Your mind is your heaven and the battle ground. Think of all you are bombarded with daily, on both electronic and print media, what friends, relatives, yeah enemies too, are telling and showing you. You can allow yourself to be overrun by a seemly superior thought or you can regroup and chase out the army.  Indeed, greater is he that is in you than he that is out in the world.
